37 died during current season in Telangana due to heatwave

At least 37 persons have reportedly died due to extreme heat and effects of heatwave like conditions in Telangana state during the current season. Though these deaths occurred across the state, reports reaching Hyderabad indicate that most of them were reported from Nizamabad, Adilabad and Mahabubnagar districts from April 1st onwards.

Meanwhile, met officials informed that the heatwave conditions continue to prevail in several parts of the state, especially at most parts of Adilabad and Mahabubnagar. They said, Mahabubnagar today recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degrees celsius while Hyderabad recorded 42 degrees.

The officials said, thunderstorm accompanied with squall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Mahabubanagar, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad and Nalgonda today.
