All arrangements in place to conduct free & fair assembly elections in Tripura: CEO

In Tripura, Chief Electoral Officer Sriram Taranikanti said that all arrangements have been undertaken to conduct free and fair Assembly elections on 18th February in the state.

Talking to media in Agartala, Mr. Taranikanti said that Central Paramilitary Forces will be deployed outside every polling station during the voting day.

The casting of votes through ballot paper will continue upto 14th February.

As per information received, the poll campaign is getting feverish pitch in the state.

The CEO said that 16 returning officers are conducting the voting process through postal ballots. He further said that till Saturday 14,805 voters have cast their vote. He added that around 65,000-68,000 voters are expected to cast their votes.

On Monday BJP National President Amit Shah will address rallies in Takarjala, Gandacherra and Khowai. Also, UP’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will hold road shows and address rallies in Jubrajnagar, Kanchanpur, Kamalpur and Kheyrpur.

Congress leader and Puducherry’s Chief Minister V.Narayansami will release election manifesto and address rallies in Ramnagar and Town Bardowali constituencies.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will address rallies in Santirbazar and Udaipur. Besides, CPIM Polit bureau member Brinda Karat will address rally in Bagbassa.
