TDP leader Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu passes away in Hyderabad

Telugu Desam Party senior leader, former minister and sitting member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu passed away during wee hours in Hyderabad. He is 71.

Suffering from fever, he was shifted from a hospital in Tirupathi to a private hospital in Hyderabad a few days ago for better care. He breathed his last during the wee hours today. He was survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.

Hospital sources informed that high fever and multi-organ failure caused the death.

Inspired by N T Ramarao call, he left his lecturer job to enter active politics in 1983. He had been inducted into the first cabinet of the TDP Government in 1984 and held portfolios like education, higher education and environment several times then on.

He represented Puttoor Assembly Constituency in Andhra Pradesh for six times and won from Nagari after reorganisation of constituencies.

Having differences with TDP, he joined Congress in 2004 and rejoined TDP in 2008. His sudden demise shocked the political circles as well as people.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock and grief over his sudden demise. The chief Minister said Muddu Krishnamanaidu played a key role in the journey of TDP and his services to the party and public were unforgettable.

Ministers and leaders of various political parties expressed grief over his death.

The TDP leader’s last rites will be performed at his native village in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
