15 children killed after train hits school van in UP’s Kushinagar

In Uttar Pradesh, 15 children were killed after a school van collided with a train in Kushinagar district this morning.

The accident took place at Bahpurwa village around 6:40 AM.

Chief Medical Officer of the district informed that the condition of the four injured children and the driver of the van is serious. They are being shifted to the BRD medical college Gorakhpur.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an ex-gratia of 2 lakh rupees each to the next of the kin of those killed. He has also ordered an inquiry by the Commissioner of Gorakhpur into the incident.

The Commissioner has reached the spot.
