In Gujarat, heavy rains lashed several parts of Saurashtra region disrupting normal life in the region. Morbi, Rajkot, Surendranagar and Banaskantha are worst affected districts. Three persons have lost their lives and hundreds rescued were relocated to safer places. Air Force and the National Disaster Response Force are helping the state administration in relief and rescue operations.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani held an emergency meeting to review the situation. Rupani instructed the state administration to remain extra alert as the weather department has given a warning of heavy rains in Gujarat in the next 48 hours.
