State Sports Excellence Award Ceremony: Chief Minister Sai will honor state’s talented sportsperson on August 29

Prize money of Rs 76 lakh will be distributed to 97 awardee players for the Award Year 2021-22 and 2022-23

Raipur, August 27

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will honor the talented players of Chhattisgarh in State Sports Excellence Award Ceremony on Thursday.

The program will be presided over by Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh. The special guests of the program will be Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Shri Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Arun Sao and Shri Vijay Sharma and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Tankram Verma. The State Sports Excellence Award Ceremony will be organized by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur from 12 noon.

Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal, Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Food Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel, Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Industry Minister Shri Lakhan lal Dewangan, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, MLAs Shri Rajesh Munat, Purandar Mishra, Motilal Sahu, Anuj Sharma, Indrakumar Sahu, Guru Khuswant Saheb will be the special guests in the program.

In the program, the state government will honor a total six players with Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award for the year 2021-22, six players with Shaheed Kaushal Yadav Award, two players will be awarded with Veer Hanuman Singh Award, 11 players will be honored with Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman, five players for Shaheed Vinod Choubey Samman and 11 players will be awarded for Chief Minister Trophy for the year 2021-22.

Similarly, for the year 2022-23, four players will be honored with trophies of Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award, 07 players will be awarded with Shaheed Kaushal Yadav Award, one player for Veer Hanuman Singh Award, 15 player will be awarded with Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman, five for Shaheed Vinod Choubey Samman and 24 selected players for Chief Minister Trophy for the year 2022-23.

Sports department officials informed that for the award years 2021-22 and 2022-23, prize money of Rs 76 lakh will be given to 97 awardee players, Rs 60.33 lakh will be transferred to the bank accounts of 502 medal winning players, aggregating the amount to around Rs 1.33 crore.
