State Institute of Hotel Management, Raipur Sets New Benchmark with 100% Placement Success

Raipur, May 20

The Chhattisgarh government’s efforts to strengthen the tourism and hospitality sector are now delivering remarkable results on the ground. A shining example of this success is the State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM) in Naya Raipur, which is not only offering high-quality vocational education to the state’s youth but also preparing them to compete on national and international platforms. The institute’s most significant achievement is its 100% placement record.

Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and the guidance of Secretary of Culture and Tourism, Shri Anbalagan P., the institute is steadily progressing toward excellence. Established by the state government with the aim of empowering youth through employment-oriented education, the institute is now achieving new heights of success.

With modern infrastructure, experienced faculty, and strong industry connections, the institute equips students with comprehensive professional skills. It currently offers four major programs:

A 3-year B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (affiliated with JNU, New Delhi), and

Three 1-year diploma courses in Food Production, Housekeeping Operations, and Food & Beverage Service.

The diploma courses are particularly notable for their quick return — after just one year of study, students are often placed in reputed five-star hotels across the country. This offers a golden opportunity for youth to achieve professional success in a short time.

So far, three batches of B.Sc. graduates have passed out from SIHM Raipur, all of whom secured jobs in prestigious companies. In the 2024–25 academic session, 44 students received job offers from leading brands such as ITC Hotels, Taj Hotels, Mayfair Hotels & Resorts, Le Méridien, Reliance Retail, and Jubilant FoodWorks. Of these, 25 students were selected as Management Trainees, with a career path leading to Assistant Manager roles post-training.

Jubilant FoodWorks–Domino’s Pizza appointed five students — Shailendra Porte, Toshima Patel, Vinod, Sumit Raj, and Suryaprakash — as Assistant Guest Delight Managers. Their training package includes an annual salary of ₹2.95 lakh, 12% variable pay, and a ₹60,000 deferred bonus.

Students from SIHM Raipur are also excelling in national-level competitions, winning accolades in events like the Edible Crockery and Cutlery Budding Chef Competition and the Everest Better Kitchen Culinary & Bakery Challenge, thereby bringing pride to both the institute and the state.

The institute ensures that economically weaker students are not left behind. Through active efforts, SIHM helps these students access government-funded scholarships, ensuring every deserving candidate can receive quality education.

For the 2025–26 academic session, the admission process for degree and diploma programs is now open. Aspiring students are encouraged to join the State Institute of Hotel Management, Naya Raipur, to launch their careers in the booming hospitality industry.

Today, SIHM Raipur is more than just an educational institution — it is a powerful platform that fosters education, employment, and self-reliance, and is emerging as a key center for nurturing India’s future hospitality professionals.
