State Government Writes to Collectors for Land Allotment for Bio-CNG Plants

The State Government has issued a circular to all District Collectors regarding land allotment for bio-CNG plants to be established in urban local bodies for the processing of bio-waste and agricultural waste. The circular issued by the Urban Administration and Development Department from the Ministry refers to the decision taken in the State Cabinet meeting on April 17 and states that in compliance with the Cabinet’s decision, government land is to be allotted at concessional lease rates for bio-CNG plants being established for the processing of bio-waste-cum-agricultural waste in all urban local bodies of the state. The Urban Administration Department and the concerned urban local body have been authorized to take necessary action for the establishment of bio-CNG plants.
The State Government has instructed Collectors to allot a maximum of ten acres of government land to public sector undertakings and government oil and gas marketing companies for bio-CNG plants, to be established for the processing of bio-waste and agricultural waste in urban local bodies, at a concessional lease rate of one rupee per square meter. The department has directed to take necessary action to allot land to public sector undertakings and government oil and gas marketing companies on lease for a maximum period of 25 years.
