India’s premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has said that he is ready with a bagful of new tricks for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
Looking rejuvenated after a two-month break, Ashwin said he was hoping that the warm-up games against New Zealand and Bangladesh will give him a chance to try out some new variations.
Ashwin was speaking to reporters on the side-lines of the CEAT Tyres annual awards function in Mumbai on Wednesday; where he won the International Cricketer of the Year award.
The ace spinner said that changed rules with four fielders outside the 30-yard circle and two new balls from both ends will force every bowler to think out of the box.
Talking about IPL 2017; which he missed due to injury; Ashwin said that the T20 tournament has proved to be beneficial for not only Indian players but also talented cricketers from overseas.
Meanwhile, ahead of the Indian team’s departure for Champions Trophy; skipper Virat Kohli played down the hype surrounding their marquee clash with arch-rivals Pakistan, saying it will be just another game of cricket.
Defending champions India will open their campaign on 4th of June against Pakistan at Edgbaston.
