The Supreme Court today said, players registered with other cricket associations will not be allowed to take part in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) organised by the state’s association. A bench, headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra, however, said TNPL matches will be held in accordance with the schedule as they have already approved by the Committee of Administrators (CoA) which has been administering the BCCI.
The advocate, appearing for TNPL, had submitted that outstation players should be allowed to participate in the tournament after they produce a no objection certificate from their respective cricket associations.
The advocate, appearing for CoA, opposed the submission saying it has been disallowed by the CoA after considering the draft constitution of the BCCI.
The tournament, which begins today, has eight teams and every team has been allowed to have a pool of 20 players each.
