India to play three matches in Japan Open Superseries today

In Badminton, India will play three matches in the Japan Open Superseries in Tokyo today. In men’s singles quarterfinals, Kidambi Srikant will clash with Viktor Axelsen of Denmark while H.S. Prannoy will face Shi Yuqi of China. In the mixed doubles, India’s duo, Prannav Jerry Chopa and Reddy N. Sikki will meet South Korean pair of Seung Jae Seo and Kim Ha Na.

Earlier, Indian challenge in women’s singles ended with ace shuttlers, P.V. Sindhu and Saina Nehawal bows out of the tournament. Sindhu went down against local favourite Nozomi Okuhara 21-18 21-8. Saina too, lasted for just 43 minutes against Rio Olympic champion Carolina Marin and crashed out of the tournament after a 16-21, 13-21 loss.
