The Indian cricket Board has suspended the curator of Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pandurang Salgaoncar after he claimed that he had tampered with the track in a sting operation.

Hours before the ODI between India and New Zealand in Pune, a sting operation by ‘India Today TV’ showed Salgaoncar speaking to an undercover reporter, posing as a bookie.

The curator was seen agreeing to tampering with the pitch to suit the requirements put forth by the reporter.

BCCI acting Secretary Amitabh Chaudhary told PTI that Pandurang Salgaoncar had been suspended from the Maharashtra Cricket Association’s curator’s post with immediate effect.

The MCA has also suspended Salgaoncar from all other positions in the association. An inquiry Commission will also be constituted by MCA, he added.
