1st Test Day 1: India 28/3 after bowlers dismiss South Africa for 286

India were 28 for 3 at the close of the opening day play of the first cricket Test against South Africa at Cape Town on Friday.

Cheteswar Pujara with 5 and Rohit Sharma without score were on the crease when stumps were drawn for the day.

For South Africa Vernon Philander, Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel claimed one wicket each.

Earlier,fine performances by Indian bowlers, led by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, helped the team to dismissed South Africa for a modest first innings total of 286 runs .

For the hosts De Villiers emerged as the top scorer with 65 while Du Plessis made 62.

For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the main wicket-taker with an analysis of four for 87 in 19 overs.

Ravichandran Ashwin claimed two wickets.

Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya took one wicket each while there was one run out.
