1st test between India-Sri Lanka almost washed out due to bad weather

In cricket, opening day of the first test between India and Sri Lanka was almost washed out as only 11(point)5 overs could be played in the entire day due to bad weather.

The match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata started three and half hours late due to wet ground conditions and stumps were drawn early as the light was poor. There will be an early start of the match tomorrow.

India faced tough conditions today after put to bat first. Lankan Pacer Suranga Lakmal knocked off opener K.L. Rahul and skipper Virat Kohli without any score and Shikhar Dhawan for 8 in a superb opening spell.

At the stumps, hosts were struggling at 17 for 3.
