The 10th edition of the Indian Premier League Twenty-20 cricket tournament got off to a colourful start at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket stadium in Hyderabad this evening.

In the opener, defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad are playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB won the toss and elected to field first. Sunrisers were for in overs when reports last came in.
Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has been appointed interim captain of Bangalore, after regular skipper Virat Kohli and his stand-in AB de Villiers were rendered unavailable due to injuries.

KL Rahul is also not part of Royal Challengers tonight while Aniket Choudhary and Tymal Mills are debutants for RCB. Hosts Sunrisers have included Rashid Khan in the playing eleven tonight.

The league, this time around, will have eight opening ceremonies. IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla had earlier said, unlike the past, this edition plans to host eight different opening ceremonies, one before the first home game of each franchise.

IPL matches, this time, will be played over the course of 47 days at 10 different venues.
