Smooth Procurement of Paddy Under CM’s Initiative

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, paddy procurement from farmers is being conducted smoothly across the state. Senior officials are continuously monitoring the procurement system. Since the beginning of paddy procurement on November 14, a total of 42.83 lakh metric tons of paddy has been purchased. An amount of ₹9,159.61 crore has been disbursed to 9.14 lakh farmers through a bank-linked system. This paddy procurement campaign will continue until January 31, 2025.
Alongside procurement, millers have started lifting paddy as well. A Delivery Order (DO) was issued for 2.31 lakh metric tons of paddy, out of which 31,000 metric tons have already been lifted.
Officials from the Food Department reported that 27.68 lakh farmers have registered for this Kharif season, including 1.45 lakh new farmers. The state expects to procure approximately 160 lakh metric tons of paddy through 2,739 procurement centers this year.
On December 11, 3.34 lakh metric tons of paddy were procured from 84,341 farmers, with 94,279 tokens issued for the process. Additionally, 92,036 tokens have been issued for the next day.
