Smiles on faces of our mothers and sisters due to Mahatari Vandana Yojana are testament to our work’s success: CM Sai

Raipur, January 13

“Our government has completed one year, and during this year, we have fulfilled the promises made to every section of society, as guaranteed by our esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Every month, we send the Mahatari Vandana Yojana amount to the accounts of mothers and sisters. On the first of every month, when our mothers and sisters receive a message on their mobiles, a smile appears on their faces. This smile on the faces of mothers and sisters is the success of our work.”

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said this while addressing the inauguration and foundation laying ceremony of development works held at the Kondagaon district headquarters.

Chief Minister Sai said that we are providing the benefits of the Mahatari Vandana Yojana to about 70 lakh women across the state. In one year, our government has taken many important decisions for the development of Kondagaon district and has implemented them rapidly. In this series, today we have inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 168 works worth Rs 288 crore. These works include the inauguration of 130 works worth Rs 208 crore and the foundation laying of 38 works worth Rs 80 crore. Along with this, on this occasion, we are also distributing checks and materials for beneficiary-oriented works worth Rs 58 lakh. In this, 1.28 lakh mothers and sisters of Kondagaon district are benefiting from the scheme. Mothers and sisters are using this scheme very efficiently.

The Chief Minister informed that due to the popular Mahatari Vandana Yojana among women in Chhattisgarh, 5 lakh women have started monthly savings accounts in post offices. These are only the figures of the post office. Some mothers and sisters are depositing their money in banks. Some are investing in their children’s education. They are also fulfilling their dreams. This is a scheme for the economic freedom of women. Empowering women economically leads to rapid development of society.

Chief Minister Sai said that due to our government’s farmer-friendly policies, farmers have returned to farming. This time, more than 27 lakh farmer brothers have registered to sell paddy. Last year this figure was 24 lakh 75 thousand. So far, more than 40 thousand farmer brothers in Kondagaon district have sold their paddy and we have paid Rs 552 crore so far. We approved 18 lakh Prime Minister’s Houses in the very first cabinet meeting. The dream of a house has been fulfilled for lakhs of people.
The Chief Minister said that we are developing Kondagaon district with full commitment. Two months ago when I came to Jagdalpur for the Bastar Development Authority meeting, the people’s representatives of the region demanded the repair of the road in Keskal Valley. Within two months, it was repaired. Earlier, Keskal had become a valley of dust, now it has become a valley of flowers again.

The Chief Minister said that Kondagaon district is famous all over the world for its handicrafts. More than 1300 artisans create their unique artifacts here. Modern technology is necessary to connect these artifacts with the global market. For this, the district administration has signed an MoU with IIT Bhilai to connect them with 3-D printing technology. The district administration is providing free coaching facilities for the preparation of competitive exams like UPSC, PSC and Vyapam. This is a very good initiative.

Chief Minister Sai said that our daughter from Kondagaon, Kumari Hemwati Nag, has been awarded the National Child Award 2024 by President Smt. Draupadi Murmu for her outstanding performance in judo, which is a matter of pride for all of us.
