Raipur, June 10

The Commissioner of Sarguja Division has suspended Surendra Prasad Jaiswal, Block Education Officer (BEO) of Manendragarh, district Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, with immediate effect. The action was taken under directives from the state government due to serious irregularities committed during the teacher rationalization process in schools.

According to the official order, Jaiswal faces grave allegations including tampering with the teachers’ seniority list, providing incorrect subject information, and failing to follow prescribed rotation rules during rationalization.

The suspension order outlines three major irregularities:

In Middle School Ledri, Mrs. Gunjan Sharma was wrongly declared surplus despite being higher in the seniority order.

In Primary School Chimtimar, based on the date of appointment, Mrs. Arnima Jaiswal should have been marked surplus, but instead Mrs. Sandhya Singh was listed.

In Middle School Salhi, incorrect subject details were given for teacher Mr. Suryakant Joshi, and subject rotation rules were not followed.

The Commissioner deemed these acts as dereliction of duty and administrative arbitrariness, and suspended Jaiswal under the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1965 and the Classification, Control and Appeal Rules, 1966. During the suspension period, Mr. Jaiswal’s headquarters will be the Office of the District Education Officer, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur.
