Sen Community’s Significant Contribution to Chhattisgarh’s Progress and Development: CM Sai

Raipur, 17 June

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the Sen community is a progressive society with a glorious history. Their contribution to the social, economic, and cultural development of the state is invaluable. This community has played a vital role in the progress and development of Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing the Sen Community’s Women District Presidents and Talent Felicitation Ceremony held today in the capital, Raipur. On this occasion, he announced the approval of ₹20 lakh for the construction of a community hall for the Sen community in Balod Nagar.

The event began with the Chief Minister paying floral tribute to a portrait of Sen Maharaj and lighting a ceremonial lamp.

Speaking further, Chief Minister Sai emphasized that education is crucial for change in any society. There is a need to further promote education among women. An educated woman benefits the entire family. A strong woman leads to a strong society, and a strong society leads to a strong nation. Our government firmly believes that women are the foundation of nation-building. The Chief Minister also highlighted the contributions of many distinguished members of the Sen community, including the late Shri Karpoori Thakur. He expressed appreciation for the efforts being made by the community to eliminate social disparities and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fully support the development and upliftment of the Sen community.

CM Sai also mentioned that the government has implemented various schemes to strengthen the economic condition of the state’s farmers and launched several initiatives aimed at empowering women economically. After coming to power, the government implemented the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, part of Prime Minister Modi’s guarantees. Today, 7 million women across the state are benefitting from this scheme, which provides financial independence to mothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh, enabling them to play a stronger role within their families and society.

He further stated that the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme, initiated by the central government, aims to improve the gender ratio, promote girls’ education, and foster a positive societal outlook toward women. “Our daughters are our pride,” he said, adding that the scheme ensures their education and safety.

The event was also addressed by MLA Shri Purandar Mishra and Chhattisgarh Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Shri Sanjay Srivastava.

On this occasion, talented students, artists, and women social workers from the Sen community were honored with shawls and mementos. Among those present were Ms. Mona Sen, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Hair Artisans Welfare Board, Shri Puneet Sen, State President of Chhattisgarh Sarv Sen Samaj, and a large number of community members.
