Seminar on World Forestry Day to be Held in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on March 21

On the occasion of World Forestry Day, the Department of Forests and Climate Change is organizing a seminar on March 21, 2025. The event will be held in the committee hall of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly at 1:00 PM.

The Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will be the chief guest at the event, while the Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Dr. Raman Singh, will preside over the program. Additionally, the Leader of the Opposition Dr. Charan Das Mahant, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw, Shri Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, Food Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel, Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary, Industry Minister Shri Lakhanlal Devangan, Health Minister Shri Shyambihari Jaiswal, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, and Sports Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma will be distinguished guests.

The theme for World Forestry Day 2025 is ‘Forest and Food,’ which highlights the crucial role of forests in food security, nutrition, and livelihood. This event will play an important role in raising awareness about the importance of forests and their conservation. On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary of Forests, Mrs. Richa Sharma, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Forest Force Chief, Shri V. Srinivas Rao, along with senior forest officials, will also be present.

It is noteworthy that the United Nations declared March 21 as World Forestry Day in 2012 to increase awareness about the importance of forests. This event will inspire understanding of the significance of forests and encourage action for their conservation. Discussions will focus on the importance of forests, methods of conservation, and ways to improve the lives of people connected to forests. This program will help raise awareness and motivate efforts for forest conservation.
