Sai Visits Remote Hilly Village Bijrakachar in Mungeli District, Massive Public Turnout at ‘Sushasan Tihar’ Grievance Redressal Camp

Raipur, 19 May
As part of the third phase of Sushasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival), Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai visited the remote and hilly village of Bijrakachar in the Lormi development block of Mungeli district. The area, nestled in dense forests and hills and home to a significant population of tribal and Baiga Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), witnessed a historic event as the Chief Minister arrived for the first time. His unexpected presence brought immense joy to the villagers.
Chief Minister Sai formally inaugurated the grievance redressal camp by lighting a ceremonial lamp in front of images of Chhattisgarh Mahtari and Goddess Saraswati. Women and farmers welcomed him with traditional Khumri dances and garlands. Union Minister of State Mr. Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Sao, and other public representatives were also present. The Chief Minister warmly interacted with the villagers, listened to their issues, and made several landmark announcements: the establishment of a new college in Dindori, the upgradation of the Primary Health Center in Khudiya, and the construction of a hostel in Lormi.
Under this camp, residents from 14 gram panchayats — Bijrakachar, Boirha, Khudiya, Mahamai, Nivaskhar, Surhi, Katami, Lamni, Chaparwa, Achanakmar, Darwaza, Karidongri, Dongrigarh, and Jhiria — were included as part of the Bijrakachar cluster. The Chief Minister engaged in direct communication with the beneficiaries to assess the implementation of government schemes and hear their concerns.
He also distributed various benefits during the camp, including:
5 Ayushman health cards
5 ration cards
Bond papers to 20 beneficiaries under the Noni Suraksha Yojana
₹5.55 lakh in checks to 6 beneficiaries from the Cooperative Department
Keys and sanction letters for PM Awas Yojana to 33 beneficiaries
Revolving fund support to Women’s Self-Help Groups
“Lakhpati Didi” certificates to 3 beneficiaries
23 job cards under MGNREGA
Incentives to meritorious students from tendu leaf-collecting families
A safari vehicle key was also handed over to a women’s self-help group by the Forest Department for jungle safaris in Achanakmar.
While addressing the public, the Chief Minister said the current government has been in power for nearly one and a half years, during which most of the guarantees made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been fulfilled. He highlighted that at the first cabinet meeting on 13 December, housing was approved for 18 lakh families. A housing survey is ongoing until 15 May to ensure all deserving families are included.
Mr. Sai shared that farmers are receiving ₹3,100 per quintal for their paddy, with the full amount being directly transferred to their accounts. Mothers yet to be enrolled in the Mahtari Vandana Yojana will be added soon. Beneficiaries are using funds from this scheme to invest in the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. Tendu leaves are being procured at ₹5,500 per standard bag. Under the Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana, elderly citizens are being taken on religious pilgrimages. More than 5.6 lakh landless laborers have benefited from the Kisan Samman Yojana. The government is eliminating corruption through innovation and technology, transitioning services online, and taking strict action against the corrupt.
Union Minister of State Mr. Tokhan Sahu praised Chief Minister Sai for diligently fulfilling every one of PM Modi’s guarantees. He emphasized that housing for the poor was a top promise before the elections, and the state government acted immediately upon coming to power. He also noted that food and basic services are now being ensured even in remote and forested areas, along with clean drinking water and sanitation facilities. Under the Mahtari Vandana Yojana, women are receiving ₹1,000 per month, enhancing their confidence and financial independence.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Sao highlighted the significance of the Chief Minister’s visit to this remote tribal area. He stressed the government’s outreach to even the most marginalized communities and the progress made under the new administration. He affirmed that the Sushasan Tihar camps are actively solving people’s problems and that the state is progressing rapidly under Mr. Sai’s leadership.
Also present at the event were Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Subodh Singh, Secretary Mr. P. Dayanand, and other officials and local residents.
It is worth noting that the state is consistently resolving public grievances through these solution camps. The government is committed to ensuring that benefits of schemes reach the last person in society. In Mungeli district alone, 1,29,573 applications have been received, of which 1,29,565 have been resolved. In the Bijrakachar cluster, 7,970 applications (including 7,917 demands and 53 complaints) were received, and 7,964 have been successfully addressed. The highest number of applications — 1,977 — were for PM Awas Yojana. Under Awas Plus 2.0, 1,469 new beneficiaries have been added. Additionally:
110 land improvement works
20 pond constructions approved
25 new job cards issued
116 new ration cards issued
61 name additions/removals
2 labor cards
142 new registrations under Mahtari Vandana Yojana
31 pension registrations
23 new enrollments under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi
This demonstrates the extensive outreach and commitment of the government to delivering services even in the remotest parts of the state.
