Sai Inaugurates Newly Constructed District Transport Office in Mungeli

Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated the newly constructed District Transport Office building in village Bachhera, Pathariya block of Mungeli district, built at a cost of ₹1.72 crore. He stated that the district had long lacked a permanent transport office, causing difficulties for the public in matters such as licenses, vehicle registration, and other related services. With this new building, these services will now be accessible locally, providing significant relief to the citizens.
On the occasion of the inauguration, the Chief Minister symbolically handed over learner’s licenses to five applicants, bringing joy to their faces. He emphasized that the state government prioritizes timely and convenient services for the public. Through this new office building, all major services such as vehicle registration and driving licenses will be available in a single premises.
Spread over six acres of land, the campus includes one acre for the office building and five acres reserved for a driving test and fitness testing center. The building houses 18 rooms, 6 halls, attached toilets and bathrooms, as well as general restroom facilities. The office has been fully designed with modern amenities to enhance operational efficiency.
It is noteworthy that since the year 2021-22, a total of 11,721 driving licenses have been issued and over 49,000 vehicles have been registered in the district. These figures reflect the high demand for transport services, which this new office will now be able to fulfill more efficiently. Chief Minister Mr. Sai stated that along with accelerating development in the state, the government is continuously striving to improve administrative efficiency and public service accessibility.
On this occasion, Union Minister of State Mr. Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Sao, MLAs Mr. Punnulal Mohile and Mr. Dharamlal Kaushik, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Subodh Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. P. Dayanand, and other officials and public representatives were present.
