Relationship Between India and Tashkent is Three Thousand Years Old: Prof Oybek Roziv

Raipur, August 22

A delegation of scholars from Uzbekistan’s Denau Institute of Entrepreneurship and Pedagogy, led by Rector Prof. Oybek Abdimuminovich Roziv, today had a courtesy meeting with Agriculture Development, Farmer Welfare, and Biotechnology Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam at his official residence office in Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur. Minister Netam warmly welcomed the Uzbek agricultural scientists to the sacred land of Chhattisgarh.

On this occasion, Prof. Oybek Roziv shared that the relationship between India and Tashkent dates back three thousand years. He explained that Tashkent, the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan, is located in Central Asia and is known for its modern architecture, wide roads, rich cultural heritage, and advanced biotechnology.

Prof. Roziv informed Minister Netam that their visit to Chhattisgarh was part of a study tour. They were deeply impressed by the unique biodiversity of paddy and the production techniques here. He stated that this was the reason their institute signed an agreement with Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur for collaboration in agricultural education and research.

Prof. Roziv also mentioned that Uzbekistan has made significant advancements in fishery and animal husbandry, which are noteworthy. He described their institute as having 4 faculties, 14 departments, and 34 courses with approximately 8,000 students enrolled, and research collaborations with 7 countries. He invited Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam to visit Uzbekistan. Minister Netam expressed confidence that the agreement on agricultural education and research will greatly benefit students from both Chhattisgarh and Uzbekistan, as well as farmers through new technologies and research. He also accepted Prof. Roziv’s invitation to visit Uzbekistan soon.

Notably, Prof. Roziv was the chief guest at a symposium held in Raipur on “International Education and Research Collaboration in Agriculture” on Thursday. On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Raipur and the Denau Institute of Entrepreneurship and Pedagogy Uzbekistan for cooperation in education and research. Under this agreement, joint research will be conducted in agriculture, environment, water conservation, production of aromatic and medicinal plants, food processing, biotechnology, and entrepreneurship development. This collaboration will provide international-level education and research opportunities to the students and faculty of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Raipur.
