Raipur, March 24
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is committed to serving the public and is continuously working towards simplifying, making more accessible, and ensuring transparency in government processes through technological empowerment.
In this regard, following the clear instructions of the Minister for Commercial Taxes (Registration), Mr. O.P. Choudhary, and keeping public convenience as the top priority, the Inspector General of Registration and Stamps, Mr. Pushpendra Kumar Meena, has issued a letter today to all district collectors. The letter directs that all registry offices will remain open on the public holidays of March 25, 29, 30, and 31, ensuring that citizens do not face any inconvenience. Additionally, for the convenience of the public, the appointment time for registry has been extended from 5 PM to 7 PM.
It is noteworthy that on March 24, the registry department’s software, NGDRS (National Generic Document Registration System), faced a technical issue, causing the server to temporarily go down, which disrupted the registry process for some time. The operation of the NGDRS software is managed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Pune. As soon as the server downtime was reported, the technical teams from NIC Pune and NIC Raipur coordinated promptly, and the rectification process was initiated immediately. As a result of tireless efforts, the server began functioning properly by 6 PM, and registry work resumed. To prevent such technical issues in the future, continuous technical coordination with NIC is being ensured.
