Promotion of Research in Tribal-Dominated Areas, ₹2 Crore Allocated for the Srimant Shankar Dev Anusandhan Peeth in 2025-26 Budget

Taking a significant step toward promoting research and studies in tribal-dominated areas, the state government has allocated ₹2 crore in the 2025-26 budget for the establishment of the Srimant Shankar Dev Anusandhan Peeth at Pandit Ravishankar University. This initiative has been taken under the special guidance of Governor Ramen Deka.
Additionally, ₹1.71 crore has been allocated for an IT-based MIU laboratory at the university, which is expected to provide a new direction to research.
Governor Ramen Deka emphasized that research and studies are the foundation of intellectual growth in society. He stated that the establishment of the Srimant Shankar Dev Anusandhan Peeth will play a crucial role in promoting science and knowledge in tribal regions and documenting local traditional knowledge. This initiative will accelerate research activities and provide younger generations with an opportunity to understand their cultural heritage.
Furthermore, ₹3 crore has been allocated to promote research and innovation in the state.
In addition, following the Governor’s directives, the creation of exam controller posts in all autonomous colleges has been proposed in the budget. This move aims to strengthen administrative efficiency. The Governor remarked that these provisions would help make the national education system more effective and transparent.
