Promotion and Encouragement for Sports In Chhattisgarh Is Our Priority – CM Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday inaugurated the 45th NTPC Junior National Archery Championship being held at Swami Vivekanand Athletic Stadium located on Kota Road in the state capital Raipur. He extended his best wishes for the successful organisation of the 45th NTPC Junior National Archery Championship and encouraged the players for excellent performance.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that it is a matter of good fortune for Chhattisgarh that the state has got the opportunity to host the National Tribal Games. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, very good opportunities are being provided to sports talent across the country to move forward through Khelo India. Along with this, a positive environment regarding sports is being created today across the country and the state. He said that development of sports in Chhattisgarh is included in our priorities. The government is providing all facilities and incentives to players of all sports to help them hone their talent.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that new Khelo India complexes have also been started in Chhattisgarh, due to which sports talents are getting all necessary facilities. Sports Award Ceremonies are organised in the state to provide special encouragement to players. State government will give Rs 21 lakh to athletes who qualify for the Olympics. If any young player from our state wins a gold medal at the Olympics, he or she will be given Rs 3 crore, Rs 2 crore for winning a silver medal and Rs 1 crore as incentive amount for winning a bronze medal.
It is noteworthy that the 45th NTPC Junior National Archery Championship is being organised under the aegis of the Chhattisgarh State Archery Association and the Chhattisgarh Department of Sports and Youth Welfare. The competition will be held till December 30. Around 500 players from 30 states and Union Territories are participating in the championship. Chhattisgarh Olympic Association General Secretary Shri Vikram Sisodia, Former president of the Chhattisgarh State Archery Association and National Vice President Shri Kailash Morarka, General Secretary Shri Ayush Morarka, Shri Ishwar Prasad Agrawal, along with players, coaches, managers from various states, and a large number of dignitaries and sports enthusiasts were present at the programme.
