PM Modi’s Another Guarantee Fulfilled: CM Sai Announces ₹10,000 Annual Assistance for Landless Workers

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has announced the fulfillment of another guarantee given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The state’s rural landless workers will now receive an annual financial assistance of ₹10,000.
CM Shri Sai made this announcement during a program organized at the district headquarters in Sakti on the occasion of the state government completing one year in office. He stated that this scheme would benefit 5.62 lakh workers in the state.
On this occasion, CM Shri Sai also declared that Damoudaraha in Sakti district would be developed as a tourist destination. He further stated that with nearly ₹170 crore worth of development projects, Sakti district would witness a new phase of progress. During the event, CM Shri Sai also blessed 15 newlywed couples under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana.
CM Shri Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted the significance of the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, happening after 144 years. He encouraged the devotees from Chhattisgarh to participate in this grand tradition of Sanatan Dharma. To facilitate their journey, the state government has arranged a 4.5-acre area at the Mela site, providing accommodation and food for the pilgrims from Chhattisgarh. The Chhattisgarh Pavilion at Prayagraj showcases the state’s unique culture, attracting a large number of visitors.
CM Shri Sai reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling PM Narendra Modi’s guarantees. He mentioned that the first cabinet meeting approved 18 lakh houses under the housing scheme, with 8.47 lakh houses sanctioned in the first phase. Many beneficiaries have already moved into their new homes. Recently, Union Minister for Panchayati Raj & Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Nagpura, Durg, and approved 3.5 lakh additional houses. Additionally, the Awas Plus survey has begun, and the eligibility criteria for PM Awas Yojana have been expanded. Now, individuals with two-wheelers, up to 2.5 acres of irrigated land, or 5 acres of non-irrigated land, and a monthly income of up to ₹15,000 can apply for housing. A new online app has been launched to simplify the application process, allowing people to apply from home.
Deputy CM Shri Arun Sao emphasized that the Chhattisgarh government is rapidly completing long-awaited development projects. He assured that public funds are being utilized for public welfare. Over the past year, ₹77 crore has been allocated for six urban bodies in Sakti district. Farmers are receiving ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy, Mahatari Vandan funds are being distributed monthly, and housing construction is progressing rapidly, boosting rural development.
The event was also addressed by MP Smt. Kamlesh Jangde and attended by MLA Shri Ramkumar Yadav, along with many public representatives and a large gathering of citizens.
