PM Modi Inaugurates 103 Redeveloped Railway Stations Across the Country Including Ambikapur Developed India’s Glimpse to Be Seen at Amrit Stations: C

Raipur, May 22 Prime Minister Narendra Modi today virtually inaugurated 103 railway stations stations from Chhattisgarh including Ambikapur are included. These railway stations have been equipped with world-class facilities. This marks a new culture of development in Indian Railways, where selected stations are being redeveloped. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai joined this virtual program from Ambikapur railway station.

It is noteworthy that the visionary leadership of Indian Railways and the Prime Minister Shri Modi has ensured that these development works provide modern facilities to local passengers and boost tourism and economic activities in the region. Indian Railways has initiated the rejuvenation of 1,337 stations, of which redevelopment work on 103 stations has been completed. These include five stations from Chhattisgarh state: Ambikapur from Bilaspur division, Urkura, Bhilai, Bhanupatappur from Raipur division, and Dongargarh from Nagpur division.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that it was due to the efforts of respected Lorang Sai Ji that the railway station was established in Ambikapur. He said Prime Minister Modi is working with a vision considering 1.4 billion Indians as his family. He added that by 2047, Chhattisgarh aims to become a developed state. Under the Amrit Kaal, continuous development of railway stations is underway. The five locations in the state inaugurated today reflect the vision of a developing India. The Chief Minister also said efforts are ongoing to connect Jashpur district with rail connectivity.

The program was attended by Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam, Finance Minister O.P. Chaudhary, Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, MP Chintamani Maharaj, MLAs Rajesh Agrawal, Shakuntala Porte, Udeshwari Paikra, Ram Kumar Toppo, Prabodh Minj, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Youth Commission Vishv Vijay Singh Tomar, Mayor Manjusha Bhagat, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, numerous representatives, and many citizens of the Sarguja region.

Ambikapur Railway Station

Ambikapur railway station, the cultural heart of Chhattisgarh’s tribal heritage, is an integral part of the nation’s lifeline, Indian Railways. The station has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. To fully serve passengers, several new provisions have been made in the new station building. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Ambikapur railway station has been upgraded and modernized at a cost of ₹6.29 crore. This includes improving the circulating area by widening roads, providing a well-equipped entrance gate for passenger reception, 3,900 square meters of road, and parking arrangements for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers over 3,677 square meters.

Ambikapur railway station features advanced facilities including second-class and higher-class waiting rooms, VIP lounges, six new modern shaded platform shelters, modern toilets for women, men, and differently-abled persons, water fountains, train/coach display boards, CCTV cameras, ramps and tactile tiles, 300 meters of stainless steel railings, 58 street lights, high mast lights for better illumination, and the latest public announcement system to benefit passengers.

A large national flag has been installed outside the railway station complex, and a selfie point inspired by Sarguja’s famous Sitabengra Caves has been created for passengers. The station boasts a grand entrance gate, attractive facade, high mast lighting, modern waiting rooms, ticket counters, modern toilets, and accessible ramps for differently-abled individuals. The platforms have shelters, coach indication systems, and digital information displays. All facilities are designed to be disabled-friendly. Additionally, each station showcases the local folk art, culture, and traditions.
