Pledge on National Unity Day to be Taken to Commemorate the Resolve of Unity and Integrity

“National Unity Day” will be celebrated in the state on October 31st on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India and the country’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
As per the directions of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, the State Government will organize various programs on this day. The Home Department has been declared the nodal department for this event.
On the occasion of National Unity Day, a National Unity Pledge Ceremony will be organized at 10:30 AM in all government offices, educational institutions, and local bodies across the state. On this occasion, officers, employees, students, and citizens will be administered the “National Unity Pledge.”
Along with this, “Run for Unity,” essay and debate competitions, exhibitions based on unity, youth rallies, and public awareness programs will be organized throughout the year from October 2025 to October 2026, to take Sardar Patel’s contribution and the importance of national unity to the masses.
The State Government has instructed all departments, districts, and government institutions to ensure the organization of the prescribed activities on the occasion of “National Unity Day,” so that the ideals of Sardar Patel and the message of Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat (One India-Great India) can be effectively conveyed to the general public.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that Sardar Patel’s life gives us the message that unity is the nation’s greatest strength. His unwavering resolve and visionary leadership strengthened the integrity of the country. He has called upon the people of the state to collectively pledge on this occasion to faithfully fulfill their duties to protect the unity, integrity, and security of India.
