Our government waged decisive battle against naxalism in 11 months: CM Chief Sai

Raipur, December 4
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, a comprehensive review meeting on the Naxal situation was held today at the Police Headquarters in Nava Raipur.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma, along with senior state officials. Discussions focused on evaluating efforts to eradicate Naxalism and formulating strategies for the future.
CM Sai stated, “Our government has waged a decisive battle against Naxalism over the past 11 months.”
Referring to the Union Home Minister’s commitment to eliminate Naxalism by March 2026, he emphasized the need to devise effective strategies aligned with this goal. He highlighted the importance of intensifying public awareness campaigns to encourage Naxal surrenders.
The Chief Minister noted that the people of Bastar are eager to move away from the shadow of Naxalism and embrace development, as evidenced by the recently concluded Bastar Olympics. He directed the swift completion of 15,000 houses for surrendered Naxals and Naxal-affected families under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme. Expressing confidence in collective efforts and public participation, he said Chhattisgarh would soon be free of Naxalism, with a government priority of improving local communities’ living standards and achieving new heights of development.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma underscored the state government’s concrete actions to end Naxalism. He stressed the need to involve civil society in the campaign and accelerate efforts to encourage Naxal surrenders. Sharma highlighted the importance of dismantling Naxal financial networks and stated that all necessary measures would be implemented to achieve the objective.
The meeting covered key topics, including the expansion of the security grid, establishment of new camps in Naxal-affected areas, rehabilitation and housing plans for surrendered Naxals, and a joint action plan for coordinated efforts.
The review meeting was attended by DGP Ashok Juneja, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Manoj Pingua, ADG Pradeep Gupta, SRP Kalluri, Vivekanand Sinha, Amit Kumar, CM’s Secretary Rahul Bhagat, Home Secretary Neha Champavat, Himshikhar Gupta, and other officials.
