Spurious liquor claims 39 lives in UP, Uttarakhand

As many as 39 people were died after consuming spurious liquor  in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand has risen to 39.

According to information received, 25 persons were died in Kushinagar and Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh while 14 lost their lives in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand. The death toll is likely to rise as many persons are still admitted in hospitals and their condition is reported to be serious.

In a wake of the tragedy, UP government has announced ex-gratia of 2 lakhs rupees to the next of the kin of deceased and 50 thousand rupees to those undergoing treatment in hospitals. The government has suspended 10 police personnel in Saharanpur.
