
In Uttar Pradesh, International Yoga Day on June 21 will be held with much fanfare as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not only participate in the function but also perform yoga in Lucknow.
State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his Cabinet colleagues and other party functionaries will also participate in the event. Over 70,000 people, including school children and NCC cadets, and members from different organisation will take part in the event.
The Chief Minister has directed the officials to carry out a cleanliness drive across the state before the International Yoga Day celebrations.
Chief Minister has reviewed the preparation for International Yoga Day. He has emphasised for cleanliness in the state capital and illumination the city roads with LED lights. He has said that the area around Rama Bai Ambedkar Maidan venue of the main function should be spic and span and if need arises, repair work should be carried out in the park. He said all the public places like parks, where different organisations plan to hold the International Yoga Day, should be spruced up.
As per information received, about 500 Yoga trainers are engaged to teach the people and prepare them for taking part in the Yoga Day events.
A campaign has been launched to make people aware about the Yoga Day. Educational institutions, social and spiritual organisations and NGOs are engaged in conducting Yoga training sessions across the state.
