A woman Naxal was killed in an alleged encounter with police in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, police said today.
A police official said the incident took place around 3.30 pm when a team of the anti-Naxal C-60 commando force was conducting a combing operation in Mouza Mendhari forest area.
He said Naxals opened fire on the commandos, leading to a gun-battle After the ultras retreated, body of a woman Naxal was found, along with a rifle and some explosive material. The woman was yet to be identified.
