In Jammu and Kashmir, three Jaish-e-Mohammed militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Hayuna Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district yesterday.
At least five security personnel were injured in the operation and have been hospitalized. Two among three slain militants are reported to be local boys from Tral and Pulwama areas who had recently joined the militancy while third one is believed to be Pakistani.
Director General of Police SP Vaid said that the gunfight erupted last evening after a joint team of Army and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation about the presence of some militants.
