The 3rd International Yoga Day is being celebrated across the national capital in a big way.

The main event was organised at Connaught Place of the city where Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, Sports Minister Vijay Goel, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other dignitaries performed various postures of Yoga with the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Naidu said Yoga is the traditional art of India which brings peace and keeps a person healthy. He said, yoga is beyond politics and religion.

As per information received, NDA President Nominee Ram Nath Kovind alos performed yoga in the national capital. Yoga programmes were also held at other places in Delhi. Besides, Connaught Place, people thronged in large numbers at places including Nehru Park, Talkatora Garden and Lodhi Garden and Dwarka to perform yoga.Diplomats of various countries took part in the yoga rogramme at Nehru Park.

Volunteers form various organisations including NDMC, Delhi Police, and paramilitary forces also performed yoga on the occasion.

Early morning showers made the city weather more pleasant favoring the people in performing yogasanas.
