The full bench of the Election Commission, led by Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, reached Kolkata last evening to review the preparedness of the Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal.
Official sources said, the poll panel will today hold a series of meetings with political parties, state election officials and nodal officers of state and Central police forces. The team will also meet District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police to review law and order.
The full bench would meet the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Director General of Police and other senior officials of the state tomorrow. It would also meet the expenditure officers of all central government departments, besides the officials of banks, railways and airports. The team was in Ranchi yesterday where it took stock of the poll preparations in Jharkhand.
