Assam government has distributed over 13 lakh Soil Health Cards so far.
Assam Agriculture Director M S Manivannan said that 2.84 lakh Soil samples have been tested.
He said 1 lakh shallow tube wells to be distributed in subsidized rate to farmers to double their income. Mr. Manivannan said that Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal has initiated to make Majuli as the organic district of the state and 5 crore rupees have been sanctioned for this.
He further said that 28 percent growth has been registered during last year in paddy production and 25 percent in oilseeds.
