Uttarakhand, Jan 28
As many as eight persons were killed and 14 others injured in a road accident took place in Chapawat district of Uttarakhand.
After being informed about a vehicle fell into a gorge near Pithoragarh in Lohaghat area, local police, PAC and ITBP’s personals rushed to the spot and launched an extensive rescue operation.
Seriously injured 3 persons were airlifted to Haldwani for better treatment. Union minister of state Ajay Tamta reached the spot and gave necessary direction. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident.
He has issued instructions to ensure proper treatment of the injured. Chief Minister has announced financial assistance of 1 lakh rupees each for the family of the deceased and 50,000 rupees each to those, who are seriously injured.
