UP CM, governor participate in yoga practice session

In Uttar Pradesh, a yoga practice session was held this morning at Raj Bhawan in which Governor Ram Naik, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his ministerial colleagues including both Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma participated. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Swami Bharat Bhushan conducted the session and participants performed various yogic postures together at the Raj Bhawan.

Main function on the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21 will be held at Lucknow in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will participate. Over 70,000 people, including school children and NCC, NSS cadets, and members from different organisation will take part in the main event. It is being celebrated on June 21 under the auspices of the Centre and the State government.

Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar and a joint secretary of Ministry of AYUSH Anurag Srivastava have reviewed the preparedness of the event with district officials across the State. As per information received, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to carry out a cleanliness drive across the state before the International Yoga Day celebrations.

Recently he had reviewed the preparation for International Yoga Day. He has emphasised for cleanliness in the state capital. He has said that all the public places like parks, where different organisations plan to hold the International Yoga Day, should be spruced up. About 500 Yoga trainers are engaged to teach the people and prepare them for taking part in the Yoga Day events.
