Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, there is a continuous expansion of quality healthcare facilities in Chhattisgarh. In line with this, on the instructions of Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, a new system has been started at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, where the relatives of patients admitted in various wards will not have to go to the pathology lab to get their blood tests done.

The management has taken a big decision for the in-patients admitted to the hospital. Now, for the pathological examination of all the patients admitted in the ward, their blood samples will be collected in the ward and sent to the pathology lab by the ward boy, and after the examination, the blood report will be collected and given to the on-duty nurse in the concerned ward.

Dr. Santosh Sonkar, Superintendent of Ambedkar Hospital, informed that initially, this system has been started for the patients admitted in Medicine Male Ward No. 8 and 9 and Medicine Female Ward No. 10 and 11. After this sample collection system is implemented in all the wards, the patients will get the biggest relief and their attendants will also not have to go to the pathology lab with the blood sample for the test. The report will also be available to them on time.

It may be noted that more than 950 patients are admitted daily in the 1340-bed Ambedkar Hospital. At the same time, about 260 new patients are admitted to the inpatient department (IPD) daily. The number of outpatients (OPD) coming to various departments here is around two to two and a half thousand daily. Apart from the OPD, there is a 24×7 arrangement for blood and radiology tests for patients coming to the emergency.
