​New Initiative for Good Governance: Deadline Set for Online Scholarship and Stipend Payment

On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, students from the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities, and Economically Weaker Sections studying in the state’s educational institutions, hostels-ashrams, and technical and professional courses are now receiving their stipend and scholarship payments directly into their bank accounts online. Chief Minister Shri Sai today transferred \mathbf{84.66} crore rupees in stipends and scholarships online to the bank accounts of \mathbf{1.98} lakh students from these sections at an event held at Mantralaya, Mahanadi Bhawan.
​Principal Secretary Shri Sonmani Bora informed that under the new system for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric scholarship and stipend payments, students will receive online payments in the months of June, September, October, and December. This initiative will relieve students of financial difficulties during their academic studies. Previously, students were provided the scholarship and stipend amount once a year in December and February-March.
​Principal Secretary Shri Bora stated that the continuous efforts towards good governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Sai have made the government and administration significantly more accountable and transparent compared to before. Shri Bora mentioned that today, under the hands of Chief Minister Shri Sai, the second installment of stipends amounting to \text{79} crore \text{27} lakh rupees was transferred to the bank accounts of \text{1} lakh \text{86} thousand \text{50} students in ashrams-hostels, and \text{5} crore \text{38} lakh \text{81} thousand rupees were transferred to \text{12} thousand \text{142} students receiving Post-Matric scholarships.
​Principal Secretary Shri Bora also noted that the online payment of stipends and scholarships to students was first launched by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on \text{10} June \text{2025}. An innovative step was taken by releasing a total of \text{85} crore rupees before the start of the academic session, which included the first installment of stipends, amounting to \text{77} crore rupees, for all Pre-Matric hostels and ashrams operating in the state, and \text{8.93} crore rupees as the first installment of meal assistance for students studying in Post-Matric hostels. Furthermore, in the second phase on \text{17} June \text{2025}, a scholarship amount of \text{6.2} crore rupees was transferred online to \text{8370} students.
