Naxalism Will Be Erased by the Indomitable Spirit of Our Soldiers: CM Sai

Raipur, May 23
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the courage of our soldiers is higher than the tallest mountains. In the decisive battle against Naxalism, our jawans (soldiers) have displayed extraordinary bravery, valor, and determination. Thanks to their high spirits, the day is not far when Bastar will be completely free from the scourge of Naxalism.
CM Sai visited the BSF camp in Basing village, Orchha block, today, where he lauded the jawans of DRG, BSF, and District Force for their major anti-Naxal operation on May 21 in the border hills of Narayanpur, Dantewada, and Bijapur districts. In this operation, 27 Naxalites were neutralized, including hardcore Maoist Baswa Raju, making it one of the most significant crackdowns against Maoists to date.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, and Principal Secretary to the CM Subodh Kumar Singh also accompanied CM Sai to the Basing camp.
In a symbolic gesture of appreciation, CM Sai applied tilak (vermilion mark) on the foreheads of the jawans and felicitated them. He emphasized their crucial role in restoring peace and harmony in Bastar. He also flagged off a patrol team of 50 motorbikes for active surveillance in the region.
Encouraging the soldiers, CM Sai praised the strategic execution of the operation and called the success “commendable.” He saluted the unmatched courage and bravery of the forces and reiterated that the eradication of Maoism from Bastar is now within reach. He noted that the resolve taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to eliminate Naxalism from India by March 2026 is now visibly progressing.
CM Sai expressed confidence that Bastar would soon be fully integrated into Chhattisgarh’s development journey. He added that even the remote interior regions of Bastar, once inaccessible, will now witness progress in education, healthcare, welfare schemes, and infrastructure.
He mentioned that government schemes like Niyad Nellanar and PM Janman are now connecting Naxal-affected regions to mainstream governance, and positive changes are becoming visible in Bastar. With the end of Maoism, Bastar is set to advance rapidly toward development.
The Chief Minister extended best wishes to all soldiers involved in the operation and congratulated them for their bravery. On the occasion, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma remarked that the operation and the soldiers’ historic success have received praise at both national and international levels. He affirmed that Bastar is now poised for significant and positive transformation on the path of progress and development.
CM Sai also presented LED TVs and gift hampers to the soldiers. The jawans shared the details of their strategic planning and preparation for the operation with the Chief Minister and Deputy CM. These included a BGL launcher, 12-bore guns, .303 rifles, 7.62 mm rifles, 5.56 mm INSAS, AK-47s, 9 mm carbines, and various other arms.
