Raipur, March 30
The Raipur city is now connected to the New Raipur capital region through the rail network. MEMU trains will now run regularly for commuting in this area. The train service will connect Raipur Railway Station to New Raipur CBD, Kendre, Abhanpur, and from Abhanpur back to Raipur via Mandir Hasod. This will make travel to Mandir Hasod, the Secretariat, New Raipur, and Abhanpur easier and more affordable. This new service will benefit government employees, citizens of New Raipur, and students, providing them with enhanced convenience.
Today, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, during an event held in Mohbhatha, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, via video conferencing, launched the Abhanpur-Raipur MEMU train service. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi also dedicated four completed rail projects in Chhattisgarh worth ₹2,695 crore to the nation and laid the foundation for seven more rail projects.
The Raipur-Abhanpur MEMU train will stop at Mandir Hasod, CBD, Kendre, and Abhanpur stations. Passengers will be able to travel between Raipur, New Raipur, and Abhanpur for just ten rupees. The MEMU train running between Abhanpur and Raipur is a state-of-the-art three-phase train. Notably, this modern train will offer energy efficiency, high speed, and enhanced comfort, providing passengers with a new experience. Southeast Central Railway is also operating several three-phase MEMU trains across various rail sections. Each coach is equipped with aesthetically designed interiors, cushioned seats, large windows, sliding doors, and mobile charging sockets. Display screens and loudspeakers, under the GPS-based PAPIS system, have been installed in every coach to provide station information to passengers. Additionally, CCTV surveillance systems have been implemented, and each trailer coach has environmentally friendly bio-toilets.
