Venkaiah inaugurates 47th RNU of AIR at Visakhapatnam

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu commissioned the 47th Regional News Unit (RNU) of News Services Division of All India Radio (AIR) at Visakhapatnam this afternoon.

Speaking after commissioning of the RNU, Mr Naidu said, AlR is the age old media in the country reaching length and breadth of the nation. He said, radio as a communication tool has its sanctity even today by giving reliable and authentic news to its listeners.

As per information received, Mr Naidu praising radio said, it stands for its credibility of the information it provides and the medium has spread its network far and wide across the country reaching every household in various languages and in different genres.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting M. Venkaiah Naidu today said, the central Government is working for the overall development of the country with the fruits of development reaching to all sections of the society and instilling among the people that they are not left out but are part of the development initiatives.

Mr. Naidu said, eliminating regional and economic imbalances is the prime goal of the Centre towards which, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for. He also said radio has its own popularity and even honourable Prime Minister too has chosen the services of radio via ‘Man ki Baat’ programme to share his views and address the people of the country.

The Minsiter emphasized that it is necessary for the news to be presented as it happens and it should not be made or essayed. Quoting “bahujana hitaaya bahujana sukhaaya” the Union Minister complimented the initiatives and zeal displayed by Prasar Bharati towards commissioning of the RNU which was actually sanctioned during the 11th Plan.
