Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said, Union Territories of Dadara & Nagar Haveli will get maximum benefit of Union Government’s welfare schemes.
Addressing a public meeting at Silvassa in Dadara & Nagar Haveli today, Mr. Modi said, the tribals of this region have got forest land rights for the first time in the history.
Referring to the appointment of Mr. Praful Patel as the administrator of the Union Territory, the Prime Minister said, it was aimed to control the large scale corruption in the region. Mr Modi distributed certificates under the Forest Right Act and aids and assistive devices to the divyangs.
The Prime Minister also distributed sanction letters to the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Urban and Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana and appointment letters to the youths selected for jobs under the Rozgar Mela. Mr Modi also unveiled some new developmental projects including Passport Seva Kendra, 4 – Jan Adhar Kendra, Wifi Hotspots in Dadra & Nagar Haveli and new building work for Damanganga Circuit House.
As per reports, about 8 thousand poor families have been allotted LPG cylinders and cooking kits under the Ujjwala Yojana and 7 thousand people have been allotted Homes under the Pradhan Mantri Urban and Gramin Awas Yojana. Total 20 thousand people got benefits under various welfare schemes during today’s program.
