President Pranab Mukherjee today emphasised upon debate and discussions, exhorting the student community to be argumentative, but not intolerant. Mr Mukherjee said that University campuses should be free from both physical as well as mental violence.
Speaking at the Annual Convocation of IIM Kolkata this evening, he said, ideas should be allowed to blossom in universities and there should be debate, not confrontation.
The President said that management education, in order to be world class, needs to be able to embrace contrasting pedagogical approaches, multi-disciplinary allegiances, and contemporary skills and capabilities.
He also stressed upon making management education holistic to instil sensitivity of socio economic surroundings in learners.
