The sixth India-Bangladesh Home Minister-level talks will be held in Dhaka today. Home Minister Rajnath Singh and his Bangladeshi counterpart Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal will co-chair the meeting, in which they will deliberate upon a number of issues.
Mr Singh, who had reached Dhaka on Friday, called on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday and discussed issues of mutual concern, including terrorism. He told Ms Hasina that it is possible to uproot militancy and terrorism if all countries in the region join hands. The Bangladesh Prime Minister reiterated Dhaka’s stand of not allowing its soil to be used by terrorists to carry out their activities against any country.
The Home Minister also inaugurated India’s largest visa centre in the world to reduce the waiting time for applicants. The integrated state-of-the-art Indian Visa Application Centre will replace all the existing centres in Dhaka in two phases.
