Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Sports Col Rajyavardhan Rathore today urged young athletes to give priority on building self-confidence than any other thing. Addressing a function at the National Conference on Anti Doping in New Delhi, he cautioned them against doping and said that self-confidence is the only drug they require.

Col Rathore said the zeal with which one participates in games is more important than winning medals. Speaking on the occasion, boxing champion Mary Kom said she has never taken any dope in her sporting career.

She emphasised on the importance of consulting one’s doctor and coach before taking any medication. She said the country should not face any embarrassment due to doping scandals.
