Rail minister Suresh Prabhu today said, railways is aiming to become a major player in global supply chain and as a manufacturing hub.
Mr. Prabhu speaking at a workshop in New Delhi said, research is neglected area in railways and his ministry is planning to establish more R and D centers.
Stressing the importance of research he said value addition can happen only when it is backed by research.
He further added Skill India and Make in India initiatives create tremendous opportunities for employment. He said and value addition through skill India is needed to make the country a manufacturing hub.
