Ayushman Bharat CEO Indu Bhusan has said that ten lakh jobs will be created in the health and insurance sector under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
Addressing an event organised by industry body Assocham in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Bhusan said, the scheme is going to improve the quality of healthcare in public services and also in the private sector.
He also pointed out that India still has a very high level of expenditure on health compare to other emerging economies.
Under the scheme, over 10.7 crore families from poor and vulnerable section will get the health cover of five lakh rupees annually for treatment.
